My Photography Gear

As a photographer and YouTuber, I’ve got a range of gear to suit my needs. If you haven’t already picked this up from my YouTube channel, I’m a Fujifilm photographer through and through, so all my cameras and lenses are made by Fujifilm. I also mention my bag and some other accessories further down, so read on.

Cameras

Fujifilm X-T4

I bought this refurbished from the Fujifilm online store. It was a great price, but it looked and functioned as though it was brand new, – and still does. The X-T4 has been my go-to for photography and videography for a couple of years now.

Fujifilm X100V

I bought this brand new when it was launched in February 2020. We were just about to go into a COVID lockdown in Ireland, so I was lucky to be able to drive up to Dublin City and pick it up in-person from The Camera Centre.

Fujifilm X70

I bought this used from MPB.com – and I highly recommend checking their site out if you haven’t already. They professionally assess and grade all their used camera gear, and sell them at excellent prices.

Fujifilm X-E1

Also known as ‘the sexy one’. I picked this up second hand from a local photographer, who had used it thoroughly but kept it in great condition. This camera has the same sensor as the Fujifilm X-Pro 1, so it produces beautiful photographs and is truly a joy to use.

DJI Osmo Pocket 3

This tiny, lightweight, handheld 4K-filming little beast was definitely one of my better purchases. I film the majority of my YouTube content on my Fujifilm X-T4 (see above) but the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is perfect for shooting quick ‘talking head’/speaking-to-camera videos that are so ideal for YouTube.

Lenses

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS

This came as a standard kit lens with my X-S10, but I traded the camera body in to MPB and kept the lens. It’s now my main videography lens. Fun fact: it was originally released with the X-E1, so it’s an excellent kit lens that has stood the test of time.

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 16mm F1.4 R WR

This wide-angle prime is a 24mm full-frame equivalent, and is ideal for capturing landscapes or street scenes. The weather resistance is also a huge plus.

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 35mm F2 R WR

Another weather-resistant lens, the 35mm is my ‘nifty fifty’ and the lens I attach to my cameras the most. It’s fast, it’s versatile, and it’s a lovely focal length for daily photography.

Fujifilm Fujinon XF 50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR

This lens has a nice versatile zoom range, as it’s the full-frame equivalent of roughly 75-210mm. The fixed aperture is great, and knowing it’s weather sealed gives me confidence when shooting in all kinds of Irish weather.

Accessories

Bag – Peak Design Everyday Backpack Zip 20L (Black)

I finally found a bag that makes it easy and comfortable to carry all the gear I need. The side zips make my gear really accessible and easy to grab, and the FlexFold dividers allow me to customise the internal layout to suit whatever I’m bringing out with me that day. Highly recommend.

Drone – DJI Mini 2

This may not be DJI’s latest or greatest drone, but it’s small, light, and it shoots 4K video. I got the ‘Fly More’ bundle for the extra batteries and the battery charger, and it means I can shoot plenty of aerial footage on the go with no fear of losing power.

Mic – Rode Wireless GO II

I got this because Rode is a huge name in recording equipment, but I was also influenced by other YouTubers. I got a single mic because I knew I wouldn’t need two, and I couldn’t be happier – just listen to the sound quality at the start of this video, which I filmed on the side of a mountain in the wind in Ireland!

Other Bits

I also have a Manfrotto tripod, an assortment of polarising and neutral density (ND) filters, spare batteries, and so on. Too many and too boring to list, but if you have any questions, contact me through my site, or you can always message me on Instagram.
